Will Kyd personally DJ our event?+
Yes. For direct DJ KYD & Co. bookings, Kyd Sanchez is the principal DJ and personally leads the music, hosting, and event experience.
Can we book Kyd directly or through 617 Weddings?+
Both options are available. You may inquire directly with DJ KYD & Co. or request Kyd through 617 Weddings. Availability, packages, pricing, contracting, and included services may differ, so ask Kyd which path best fits your celebration.
How quickly will we hear back?+
Kyd personally reviews inquiries and responds within 24 hours. Submitting an inquiry does not reserve the date.
How is our date reserved?+
After availability is confirmed, you will receive a written proposal explaining the selected experience, agreement, payment schedule, and reservation requirements. Your date is reserved only after those requirements are completed.
How far in advance should we book?+
Popular New England dates can book well in advance. Inquire once your date and general location are known. Shorter-notice celebrations are welcome when availability allows.
Do you provide a planning portal?+
Yes. The planning process can organize your timeline, formalities, wedding-party details, pronunciations, must-plays, do-not-play list, special songs, cultural traditions, and other production notes.
Can guests request songs?+
Yes, if you want requests welcomed. Every request is considered through your preferences, do-not-play list, cultural needs, and the energy in the room.
Do you provide bilingual MC service?+
Yes. Kyd provides polished hosting in English and Spanish. The language balance is planned around your families, guests, traditions, and comfort level.
Which styles of music can Kyd play?+
Kyd mixes R&B, hip-hop, Latin, Afrobeats, Soca, dancehall, Top 40, classics, house, Merengue, Bachata, Banda, Cumbia, Rock, and global favorites. The final direction is personalized for your room.
Can you provide ceremony and cocktail-hour sound?+
Yes. Depending on the selected package and venue layout, production can include dedicated ceremony sound, microphones, cocktail-hour sound, and reception coverage.
Do you coordinate with our planner and venue?+
Yes. Kyd coordinates key introductions, formalities, music cues, timing, sound placement, setup access, and relevant venue requirements with your professional team.
Are you insured?+
Yes. DJ KYD & Co. carries $2 million in liability insurance. A certificate of insurance can be provided when required by the venue.
What happens if equipment fails?+
Physical backup hardware is carried on-site, and music libraries and planning information are backed up. Equipment is prepared and checked before the event.
How do setup and breakdown work?+
Load-in, setup, sound checks, cable safety, operation, and breakdown are planned around venue access and handled outside the booked performance experience unless an unusual requirement is identified in your proposal.
Do you support outdoor or tented events?+
Yes, when suitable power, weather protection, safe access, and sound requirements can be arranged with the venue and event team.
Do you travel outside Boston?+
Yes. DJ KYD & Co. serves Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and select celebrations throughout New England, Connecticut, and beyond. Applicable travel or lodging requirements are disclosed in the proposal.
Can we add overtime or enhancements?+
Additional coverage and enhancements may be arranged in advance and may be available on the event date. Options include photo booth, uplighting, monogram, dancing on clouds, audio guestbook, and after-party coverage.
What should we expect Kyd to wear?+
Event attire is selected to complement the formality, venue, and style of the celebration. Share any specific dress expectation during planning.
